private & corporate tours

Please note: we have not been able to obtain liability insurance for our walking tours. No insurance company will provide the coverage we need as an unincorporated casual annual festival with the odd private/corporate tour here and there. We are not giving up, as this is part of our livelihood and we'd LOVE to continue, and hope to find a way around this systemic barrier!

At this time, we are still able to offer private/corporate tours for clients who are able to cover their own liability insurance and show proof of coverage. We can also offer virtual private and corporate tours. For more information, please email crossculturalwalkingtours@gmail.com

“What an amazing experience! We had a fabulous guide. I strongly recommend not only to visitors but also to local people who would like to learn about the different foreign communities who have over the years contributed so much to the city.”

— Dalia Utria, 2021, Private Tour

“Not only does it show that history, culture, and space are connected, but that our lived experiences as people overlap and intertwine.”

— Emma, 2021, The Initiative for Student Teaching and Research in Chinese Canadian Studies, UBC

“Joining Cross Cultural Walking Tours was a wonderful experience for our team. It gave us an opportunity to bond through a very unique experience of gaining a deeper understanding of many historic areas of the DTES and Chinatown. Our tour consisted of individuals who grew up in Vancouver as well as newcomers and everyone learned so much. We loved the experience of hearing from different tour guides and each brought a personal touch to the stories they told. I wholeheartedly recommend.”

— Alex Goodman, 2023, WildBrain Studios

“The decision to participate in Cross Cultural Walking Tours marked a shift in connection to community for our organization. It allowed us to more deeply connect with the land on which we work and operate, and understand how these connections impact and ripple through other people, groups, and communities. As a result of the tour, we were able to look at our community in a new way through the lens of past, present, future, and people. This kind of education is a gift, and one I highly recommend to any leader, business, or organization.”

— Theodora Lamb, 2020, former Executive Director, Strathcona Business Improvement Association
